Miss Clevenger shared about the life of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with Kindergarten through fifth grade.
Kindergarten, first, and second grades listened to the first minute of the fourth movement (Allegretto) of Mozart's Clarinet Quintet K. 581. After listening, the students helped map out the selection's form (ABABA) and came up with movements to go with the A and B sections. The students listened again, this time performing their movements with the music.
Third, fourth, and fifth grades learned about theme and variations form by talking about pizza. The students then watched a video of Mozart's piano work, "Variations on 'Ah, vous dirai-je, Maman'". While the theme for this piece is not written by Mozart himself, it is very famous, known to many as "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star". It is very possible that Mozart's theme and variations on this melody helped increase its popularity!
